After parting ways with The Hop, I started understanding that while I still wanted to be involved with music, I didn’t have the passion to be a musician.
That was around the same time I reconnected with Loveni who was beginning to work on his solo project after parting ways himself with his old band. I had been a fan of his since I had first heard him spit some bars at open mics around Paris. He kindly invited me to a studio session to make me listen to some of is latest stuff and right away I proposed my services as a manager.
Some time after, I came across rapper Joke’s “Luther Burger” track produced by this guy named Myth Syzer. Impressed with the production, I reached to him to show him some appreciation and that’s how we initially connected. He was living in London at that time and when he moved to Paris, we started hanging out and It was obvious to me that I had to introduce him to Loveni. Luckily the two got along very well and Syzer was very well welcomed by Loveni’s group of friends, including Ichon, who called themselves Bons Gamins. They quickly started working on the collaborative project which became Pur. It marked my first experience as a producer/project manager, overseeing studio sessions, marketing, promotion, CDs packaging and artistic direction for music videos. This made me realize that I could do this for a living and motivated me at 23 year-old to go back to college to pursue my passion and study the profession.
