September was packed with a lot of work and me setting up a bunch of things to launch this new season. Nevertheless, I had to make sure I’d keep up with all the crazy releases that dropped in the last few weeks.

São Paulo based french singer/songwritter Anaïs Sylla has just released her colorful first EP. Produced by Tó Brandileone, the 4 tracks give an introductory glimpse inside Sylla’s craft, smoothly blending her fascination for afro-brasilian folk music with contemporary pop/electronic sounds. 

Little Dragon and Badbadnotgood did a track together .. and yes, it’s the instant classic that you would expect it to be. Alpha Wann‘s finally dropped UMLA, a very focused and well matured set of 17 songs that already sounds like the playbook for all the 14 year-old aspiring rappers kicking clumsy freestyles in the park. Same place where it all started for NYC’s own Wiki, who delivers the usual swagged-out and gritty verse on the Tony Seltzer produced “In The Park”, this time with the help of Brooklyn duo Gloss Gang.

Also, watch out for Paris R&B singers Sôra and Enchantée Julia, YBN Cordae who seems to have this new generation’s rap season on lock, a very exciting upcoming new album by the queen Georgia Anne Muldrow on Flying Lotus’ Brainfeeder, and more …
