This week on Catching The Vibe w/ Jxy Breez, singer Kandace Springs returns a year and a half after releasing her critically acclaimed and Karriem Riggins produced Indigo. On The Women Who Raised Me, she pays homage to the women musicians who’ve influenced her coming up. She gets help from Israeli trumpeter and composer Avishai Cohen on this cover of Sade‘s classic “Pearl”.

Los Angeles’ own Terrace Martin brings together a group of top local players for its first straight jazz recording. Gray Area Live at JammJam features heavy hitters like Kamasi Washington, Ronald Bruner Jr. or Kneebody‘s Ben Wendel to name a few. Glad to hear an instrumental and live version of Kendrick Lamar‘s “For Free?”, which is still one of my favorite tracks off of To Pimp a Butterfly.

Also featured on this show, some Scottish jazz with Mezcla who are releasing their first album Shoot the Moon on Ubuntu and a new track by Liam Shortalls Corto.Alto. And of course more amazing. Hit the play button!
