A Jazz Scent on Hotel Radio Paris #1

What’s good family? I’m very happy to share with y’all episode #1 of A Jazz Scent, my new program on Hotel Radio Paris.

This idea came to fruition when JC, Hotel Radio Paris‘ founder, and I were discussing my ambitions to be more and more involved with jazz. I was already a regular at the station with my La Phonkerie compadres, but this was the occasion to come up with my own thing.

Slightly different from my show on Scandle Radio, A Jazz Scent explores music that is jazz, but also jazz infused. The type of sound which has this jazz “scent” or which is adjacent to jazz. Get it?! *haha* Ultimately, the bottom line stays the same that is to say, sharing outstanding tunes by incredible artists.

For this first show, I had to showcase some dope current french stuff. Bonnie Banane & Chassol have been caught displaying amazing chemistry on “Feu au Lac”, while Sauce Combo shows that they can play the blues on “Entre Deux Eaux” and the Léon Phal Quintet leads the way in making sure -with this new album- that France is to be mentioned within this new jazz wave conversation.
